Father Michael Surufka, OFM, offered a group of young adults his perspective ministering at two very different Diocese of Gary parishes in Cedar Lake and Gary during a program billed as "The Tale of Two Churches."
The program, which took place Aug. 6 at Malt Brothers Brewery in St. John, touched on the issues of individual and systemic racism that have been in the national news this summer. Father Surufka offered Pope Francis' teachings as a framework for addressing those issues.
