The Women's Care Center in Hammond has moved but remains in the city.
The new address is 6919 Indianapolis Blvd., in Hammond. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, walk-ins are not allowed. Appointments can be made after June 1 by calling (219) 554-1774, according to Catholic Charities-Diocese of Gary.
The center provides free and confidential counseling, support and education to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Support is offered to women from pregnancy until their child is school age.
The Hammond location, as well as the Merrillville location, 8500 Broadway, provides free pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, parenting classes, prenatal education, prenatal vitamins and goal setting. Baby clothes, cribs and supplies are provided through the Crib Club.
