Employees at St. John the Baptist are blessed to teach some of the most hardworking, respectful, and delightful students in Northwest Indiana and the Southeast Side of Chicago. Substitute teachers perform the instructional and classroom management processes for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time. Their duties include taking attendance, explaining homework, and maintaining classroom cleanliness. Candidates need to be flexible in their availability.
The substitute teacher aid may be responsible for the following classes: Pre-K-8th grade.
Candidates must possess the following:
- Virtus Training Certification (or completed within the first 90 days of employment at St. John the Baptist).
