JOB DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility of the assistant principal is to assist the building principal in the supervision and improvement of instruction and professional competencies. A major portion of the assistant principal’s time shall be spent working with the building principal to ensure that rigorous course content is accessible for all students, and providing opportunities for job-embedded professional development for licensed staff. The assistant principal is responsible for collaborating with the building principal in establishing a highly collaborative school culture focused on continuous improvement. The assistant principal provides support to the building principal in the organization and administration of the school through the management of communications, personnel, student discipline, services and resources, facilities, and records.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Current Indiana Indiana Professional Educator License. Three (3) years of successful teaching experience. Strong background in elementary curriculum, instruction, knowledge of special education, and bilingual education. Ability to assist the principal in analyzing achievement data to help drive school-wide instructional targets and identify professional development needs. Ability to work well in a professional community with high expectations for its students and school. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff and parents. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
