The Diocese of Gary has an excellent opportunity for a Technical Services Manager in our Information Technology Department.  The Technical System Manager provides desktop and server support related to computer operations and business systems throughout the diocese.  This position assists the Chief Information Officer in the installation and maintenance of systems/servers and new technologies throughout the diocese.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to setup/install, configure, troubleshoot hardware, software, peripheral devices, and desktop/server security policies.  This would also include management of the following:  operating systems, mobile devices, network switches, Windows Servers, security camera systems and VPN software.  Additional assistance with the setup of computers, laptops, projectors, and other audio-visual equipment for in-house (Pastoral Center & various locations throughout the diocese) presentations would also be required.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of an associate degree; however, a bachelor’s degree is preferred.  Certifications in A+, Network+, VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V and/or other areas are preferred.

The Technical Services Manager will possess the following qualities:  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to take initiative and prioritize in performing independent tasks.  Working independently and working with little to no supervision is essential to have great time management.  The ability to lift heavy equipment in required.
